| Teddy is a 7-year
old purebred German Shepherd who was kept his whole life on a deck and
in a yard until AAS was given him. He amused himself by chasing
bees and even though he has plenty of toys and friends to play with now,
he still chases bees! He is the best boy, cheerful, loves to play,
so affectionate and of course, because he is a shepherd, obedient and
never far from your side. AAS will provide free training/rehabilitation
for you and Teddy because when he is not in a pack he is protective.
Teddy does extremely well in a pack.
He does not mind being low man on the totem pole and he is much more
relaxed and not protective. |

We had his hips and spine x-rayed when we had him neutered and they are in excellent shape. He has an eye condition called pannus which means that the pigment from the iris has leaked into the pupil of his eyes. The eye specialist said, "No signs of active pannus were seen today (June 22/07). Apart from the pigment in his corneas, Teddy's eyes look fantastic! He's a lovely guy." We have him on a regime of drops. The drops are not expensive and they are easy to administer because Teddy is such a gentle, trusting dog. He may not need to be on the forever. Teddy's new family will have to take him to the West Coast Veterinary Eye Specialist in New Westminster when required by the vet.

Teddy absolutely loves to swim, going into the water just for the pure joy of swimming. His new family will be able to take him swimming several times a week because of the joy it gives him.
