Toby was bought to be a
hunting dog and so when still only eight weeks old he was put in a dark
pen in the backyard, wet and full of feces, and taken out only to be
harshly trained. He cried his heart out, and for crying, he had an
electric collar put round his puppy neck that shocked him cruelly every
time he barked. When AAS got him, the metal prong was growing into his
neck. Surgery made him physically well, fun made him joyous and love made
him whole.
