Alley Kittens Rescued: Jayke Nurses Them

We said Yes to helping these reserve kittens ...of course

Animal Advocates Society was asked to help with some bills for kittens rescued on a native reserve in the interior of BC. AAS is happy to pay these bills because it is the rescuers who are doing all the heavy work of feedings every few hours and all the bottom wiping.

These five kittens were found crying in an alley. The mother had been hit and killed by a car. They appeared to be a couple of weeks old and were hungry and fiesty...

The person who found them brought them to us and the kittens immediately took to the bottle. Because I had to go on an overnight field trip with my students to Kamloops, I asked another rescuer, Vicky, to help look after them for the night...

Her dog, Jayke, immediately took to them and began to clean them and keep them warm. When I went to retrieve them the next night, Jayke placed himself between the kittens and me and refused to let me take them.

From that day on, Vicky and Jayke raised the kittens. They are now about three months old and thriving.

Can you please help us with our kitten and all our rescued animals bills? Please donate here.
