Cat Rescue in Prince George BC

Dear AAS,

These are the rescue stories I was telling you about over the phone. Your help with this will be greatly appreciated by these lucky cats and kittens.

Two stray cats came to Trish T's house as a pair. She could not bring them into her home because her own cat would not accept them. She built a house with blankets and fed them there. She didn't want to send them to the SPCA because she was afraid that they might be put down. One month ago the grey Mama had 4 orange kittens. Trish then brought them into her home and gave them a room of their own.

A week and a half ago, the Siamese tabby cross had 4 white kittens and one kitten passed away. They are now in a room of their own as well. Trish is on disability and has limited funds to supply them with all the food and litter they need. Within a month or two, the Mamas will have to be spayed, and then all the babies will need their first vaccines and then all will have to be given to loving, worthy humans.

AAS immediately sent money for high-quality food, for litter, and will pay for all the vaccines and to have the Mama cats spayed. This will cost $700 - $900. We have committed to that, but we could use your help, just as these cats and kittens got so much help from their rescuers and AAS.

Three weeks ago, Jasmine G had a 7 month old very hungry and frightened female cat show up at her doorstep. Jasmine fed her but the cat never left. She is now in heat and needs to be adopted to a loving, responsible home as soon as she is over her heat and spayed.

AAS committed to all the bills for this cat too.

May 2010: The Mommas and Kittens Are Ready for Spaying and Vaccines

 

Grey Momma and Siamese cross Momma are ready to be spayed and vaccinated and the kittens are old enough for their first vaccines. Then homes can be found for all of them, but only responsible families will get these dear beings whose only hope was to be rescued by ethical rescuers. It is not ethical to give away cats or kittens before this has been done, and never has been. In fact, little or no money spent to ensure the adult females can't produce more kittens, is not adopting, it is selling. When kittens are sold without screening or home checks, that is also selling, not adopting. This is not a new ethic. Moral rehomers have always known what is ethical and no matter what the cost, they have done the right thing. They often do it out of their own pockets.
