If it were cats or dogs, would the SPCA, city or government have a point of view?

"When contacted about the scene at the property, SPCA official, Karen Sterling, said the dead rabbits were not the responsibility of the SPCA.

She says since City Council and the Regional District have deemed the rabbits to be wild, any concerns should be directed to the area conservation officer.

Police likely won‘t investigate because the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals Act applies only to domestic animals. The SPCA says the rabbits are beyond its jurisdiction because city council considers the rabbits wild.

Did't the same thing happen during WWII?
Nobody seems to want to make a stand.....if it were cats or dogs, would the SPCA, city or government have a point of view? Why does NO ONE care? Silence is the enemy. I don't understand it?

They are *CLEARLY domestic* rabbits, just as some cats are born in the wild, it does not make them wildlife.

For every gutted corpse, every rabbit bleeding out due to warfarin or every bunny having it's throat ripped out by a dog, there are local *KELOWNA breeders* supplying the pet stores while the city & the SPCA sit back and watch the sales take place.
