So far this year the Vernon & District Animal Care Society has TNR'd 104 feral cats and kittens in the North Okanagan. Most businesses and individuals who have got in touch with us are willing to have the cats back and are quite happy to feed them. There have only been two or three cases so far where we've had to find someone with a barn who is willing to take one of our altered ferals.

Two of the local vet clinics give us a 50% discount for ferals. Their vet techs and assistants foster and socialize the feral kittens for us. We could do next to nothing without their help. There are still hundreds of cats out there needing our help but we know that we've prevented a lot of unnecessary suffering.
