Everyday for several years, Lavone Zeviar spent hours at her computer, collecting and forwarding all the animal news she found all over the world, but especially BC news. She was an amazing resource who so many people came to depend upon. Almost every day, without fail, some of Lavone's news was posted on The WatchDog. I called it "Lavone's news clipping service".

We all knew that Lavone wasn't just one of the earliest and smartest users of the internet to spread the news both bad and good, about animal welfare, but she was an animal rescuer herself.

Her husband, Brande Zeviar also survives her, and in one of the last conversations he had with Lavone he promised her that he would 'take care of the kids'. The kids are the cats, Socrates, Nada, Merlin, and Shaman.
