What are the implications?

During our last Federal Election (two weeks ago) there were two topics that came to the fore: the Economy and the Environment. Because of the global inadequacies of the Capitalist Economy, the Environment lost out almost entirely. I wonder what kind of idiot is incapable of recognizing that the two are not two but one and the same? That's a roundabout way of indicating that the Economy and the Environment are inextricably intertwined. It doesn't require training in astrophysics to conclude that a failure in the Environment is, indeed, a failure in the Economy. How can one stand without the other? Their interdependence seems to me to be obvious.

And so, to the dolphins. One dolphin can fetch up to $100,000.00 at an aquarium. So, Christopher Porter is cashing in. The individual dolphin is the Environment. The ocean from which he or she came is the Environment. The aquarium to which he or she is going is the Environment. The use of the money is the Environment. The people who support the aquarium are the Environment. John Nightingale, who helped train Mr. Porter, is the Environment. Put them all together and you have The Economy.

It is also possible to run through the entire aforementioned paragraph and substitute Economy for Environment in every sentence and Environment for Economy wherever you think advisable. It depends on your point of view. Can one be more important than the other? In Kelowna, the rabbits are doing economic damage. Or are they? Allowing an over-population is, perhaps, the source of the economic damage. But Petcetera Etcetera is gaining economic advantage buy selling intact rabbits. No cost to sterilize-pure profit. The exterminators are making money-economic advantage. It's faster to shoot and stomp than it is to euthanize. Why should euthanasia be necessary at all? These questions are difficult questions because of the interdependence of all life. And it all comes down to this...

Have you ever met a dolphin, or a cow, or a rabbit, or a pig, or a chicken, or a warthog, or an elephant, or a tsetse fly or a "whatever" living being? Did you recognize a similarity to you? If you did, you knew that it was alive!

If the Economy does not support the Environment, the Environment will not support the Economy. If the Economy is based on the murder of anything living, it will go the way of everything that is opposed to truth and will eventually collapse.

By the way karma has nothing to do with punishment or reward. It is simple Cause and Effect.
