Animal welfarists would demand, urge, beg, pay, to have Sammy's pool enlarged and stimulation provided. Check out the big animal welfare organizations. I have not been able to find even a mention of the abolition of animal-owning on many sites. Improved prisons (shelters, farms, zoos, aquariums) are what they promote. "Shelters" full of sad-eyed animals attract a lot of money in donations.

Many animal-welfare organizations even serve animals at their fundraisers, sometimes as long as the animals had improved welfare, such as free-range; sometimes even that is of no concern.

But free-range is not freedom. Only the abolition of the use of animals by humans for any purpose is freedom. Freedom Food is only a catch-phrase to make meat-eaters free of guilt. The amimals are not free; only kept in larger areas. And they are still butchered.

For all sentient beings, freedom only comes with the abolition of slavery.
