Animal Advocates Watchdog

What a heart-felt flood of responses we got for Diesel. Many were offers to adopt him, but he is not ready to be adopted. He will have to be socialized and any issues he may have with other dogs, especially male dogs, after being sexually intact for so long guarding his little territory from wandering male dogs, must be addressed and fixed first.

We had offers to foster Diesel too, but he is over 100 lbs and may have problems that only a very dog-savvy, fearless, and dedicated person will be able to deal with, in a loving, non-abusive way. He doesn't need acreage as so many kindly people think; he needs to be near to humans for most of the day and taken out to socialize with other dogs, but only under the guidelines of an accredited trainer with a good reputation in dog-rescue circles.

Many offers have come from around North America and some from purebred groups. But it is up to Diesel's rescuers to keep him near enough to us to monitor all his needs, and able to jump in fast if and when needed.

If these things aren't done a "rescue" isn't really a rescue.

He is still in the Yukon until his transport can be arranged and a foster home is ready for him. He can be taken care of by Pepper's rescuer until his future is prepared, but not until Pepper has been rehomed. When Pepper has found a home, then Diesel can be taken off his chain and brought in out of his misery.

Please help us find a perfect home for Pepper. Go to our adoption page for the application process: www.animaladvocates.com/adoptions
