According to the 'suggestings' given at the bottom of the letter of response from Magenta Studios, their list of what rabbits require states that they need a cage 63cm X 41cm X 38cm.
I'm lousy at the metric system, so I used a converter to find that those measurements equal 24.8" X 16" X 14.9cm
On the page to which we are directed by Magenta, the House Rabbit Society states they ABHOR pet store cages of 24" X 18" - they urge people to buy cages of 36" with 2-8' panels, which sell for about $70.00, plus chairmats on the bottom.
In effect, Magenta is recommending cages that are smaller than the ones their own link disagrees with.
Another question I have is: how many people will be able or willing to buy a cage that costs $70.00, then add the cost of a good product for the flooring, let alone the toys and feeders suggested, vet, spay/neuter, etc.
Bottom line - no matter how much propaganda and paper work the Magenta people are throwing about, they are using bunnies to lure in customers and rabbit welfare be damned.
Nothing new here, folks, it's just plain greed, no matter how they spin it.
