HSUS gets into a primate research laboratory

There was a horrifying segment on Nightline tonight (March 4) about the conditions at the New Iberia Primate research laboratory in Louisiana. The Humane Society of the US (HSUS) sent an undercover person to work there for eight months in 2008.

Taxpayers are footing the bill for a lot of this type of research, as they probably are for the other experimental labs across the U.S., and probably in Canada too.

Chimpanzees receive a lot of publicity, but it has to be remembered that monkeys form the vast majority of research subjects.
