Re: It probably can't be done

That's an excellent way to show the ?disparity? between the SPCA (new vans, offices, equipment) and the animals they "care" for. It's so crazy, just has to be shown for people to believe it. Then change may start to begin at the shelter level - we need the SPCA so badly to be who they say they are. The SPCA is so well known and supported by people who think they care for unwanted animals and it's a desperate situation when we can't call them for fear of putting the animal we are worried about in worse circumstances at the SPCA shelter. The SPCA is so well known and respected by most in the general public, even with the recent airing of dirty laundry. They can make or break laws and legislation and can be so extremely valuable and active, that it's just such a let down that we can't trust them implicitly, when we need them so much. We can keep doing the hands on rescue forever, but without the SPCA's body of strength, nothing will really change, and we'll always be doing "clean-up." I'm still going to keep my eyes on the future and trust that with this website, CYA, and all the SPCA volunteers support that the SPCA will be a great society one-day that we can all trust to act quickly and decisively in an animals best interest. You're right about the newspapers not showing pictures of shelter conditions, I just wish it could be done. Does anyone know about the SPCA's farm animal welfare program? I picked up a brochure the other day. It looks good, but what exactly is it doing?
