Subject: Please STOP sponsoring hare coursing and hosting coursing club awards!

Dear Sirs,

On the evening of Saturday, April 2nd, the Ireland’s Hare Coursing Club will hold an event at your hotel which promotes the cruel and discredited so-called "sport" of live hare coursing.

The world's horror at cruelty to animals, especially industry and organized cruelty, is reaching tsunami proportions. In British Columbia Canada, the slaughter of one hundred sled dogs by the sled dog industry caused world wide condemnation and calls for boycotts. The industry and the BC government have had to lie to try to put out the fires of outrage, but it hasn't worked.

The internet is the true voice of the animals. You can protect your business and animals by cancelling the event and instead holding a fundraiser to benefit a legitimate animal welfare organization like Campaign for the Abolition of Cruel Sports. Please don't make the mistake of donating to the Irish SPCA just because it has the biggest p.r. budget. The Irish SPCA accepts money from dog sledding events. (Read more at http://www.animalperson.net/animal_person/2009/01/irish-spcas-bizarre-fundraiser.html.) Soon, organizations like the Irish SPCA will be organizations that you would not want your business associated with.

Yours truly,

Judith Stone, President
Animal Advocates Society of BC
