How odd that BC Sled Dog Task force member Dorris Heffron thinks that it's illegal to kill healthy dogs. It isn't. It's only illegal to kill animals that are protected by hunting bans or endangered species legislation or are someone else's property. I'm afraid that this adds to the concerns BC animal-welfarists have about the calibre of the task force's members and the political reasons it was created by the BC government. Only a trial will reveal the facts, but a trial would mean that Bob Fawcett, the dogs' owner, would have a public forum.
