Who’s preventing cruelty to the animals on the dinner plates?

Re: ‘Gourmet dinner for SPCA’ (Rossland News, March 31.)

A gourmet dinner organized by the SPCA? Could that be the same society that is in business to prevent cruelty to animals? Any animals?

No, of course not. Lambs are not included or the gourmet dinner would not have lamb on its menu.

What a farce! A society that claims to fight cruelty to animals serves a dinner with cut-up animals?

I realized some time ago that the SPCA is not really what they claim to be. But to be that uncreative — if not cruel — to serve farm animals to the public ... do they really think we’re that ignorant?

And in case they do, let me assure the people of Trail and Rossland that lamb is actually just a slaughtered sheep.

Prevention of cruelty to animals? They must be kidding!

And as for the comment about the SPCA not receiving any monies other than private donations — are they living in la-la land?

I am disgusted!
