"We haven't made any changes that affect the day-to-day handling or the lives of animals at all," said Daniell. "We haven't eliminated one position which directly affects the animals."

But Lorie Chortyk Says this in a July 8th Langley Times interview:

Asked if the public will see a difference in the protection of animals from cruelty, Chortyk said they will.
“The reality is there will be impacts. Our two animal farm welfare officers are gone and we won’t be able to do as much humane education,” she said. But shelter staff were not part of the layoffs.
