Someone I met today tried to take two cats to the Coquitlam SPCA, as she has developed severe allergies and could not find them a home anywhere else. The SPCA turned her away, saying they were full and that the cats would be euthanized the moment she drove away. All SPCA staff need to be this vigilant, and make it really hard for the public to surrender their pets.It is the only way people will be forced to think long and hard before getting a pet in the first place.
Now, if the BCSPCA would only make this official policy..................
