Animal Advocates Watchdog

I am glad for the information. My daughter (8) was anxious to see this movie. She would have been crying hysterically if it showed horses being whipped and hurt, because she has seen the after effects of use and abuse when they come to our farm. She has seen their legs covered in scars because "barbed wire is the cheapest fencing". She has seen the terrible pain of foundered horses who had been dumped in a field to live in agony because "they were worthless now", not even deserving of the final shot to put them out of their agony.

But mostly she has learned to love them just for being horses. To watch them run, to catch her breath at the sheer power and beauty and gentleness. I hope she will never want to go to "horse shows". I hope instead that she will want to travel to watch them run free.

I hope she will never "buy a horse". I hope instead that she will accept into her life one of the many unwanted "useless" "ugly" or "used up" survivors of this sad, sad industry. We could have had a hundred of them by now. We get offers almost every month...

I have two older horses, both of which were bound for the slaughter house
Love the horse, not the image of yourself riding one
