Presently there are 9000 bears housed in 167 bear bile farms in China. They spend their lives cooped up in tiny cages in constant pain as bile is drained out of an incision in their bellies. The situation has gone on for many years, despite constant campaigning around the world.

I don't know about you, but I find the best incentive to end bad practice is to hit people in the wallet (I got a parking ticket today - £30 - and I sure won't be parking there again!).
