Out of the Kelowna ashes, a Miracle comes home. *LINK*

While on a search and rescue request for a lost cat that disappeared during the Kelowna fires, a man approached Noah's Wish volunteers, Deb Silk and I to explain that a cat had been found by a neighbour whose home was not destroyed by the fires and he wondered if this cat was the one we were looking for and setting a trap to catch.

We drove to this home and the family explained that they had so many animals of their own they could no longer keep the stray cat and had planned on taking “her” to the SPCA the very day we arrived. Deb and I (Noah’s Wish) were thrilled to have hopefully found the cat we were so desperately looking for and we brought the bedraggled soul back to the Parkinson Centre where we would begin call after call looking for the guardian of this incredible survivor. Though many possibilities arose regarding Miracles owner we were not able to locate this family nor obtain any solid leads on “her” past.

As days turned into weeks, Miracle was transferred into foster care with Donna, a Noah’s Wish volunteer where ‘she” remained for the mandatory waiting period before an official adoption could be arranged. During this wait all of the medical needs were paid for by Noah’s Wish and on September 21st, 2003 Miracle joined “her” new family in Maple Ridge.

Life is a discovery and Miracle is no longer a she but a neutered he! Miracle had also been de-clawed which makes him even more of a survivor! This handsome man is a large, loving, crossed eyed, long haired grey tabby that has now joined our expanding four legged family.

He will now begin his second life never again knowing fear, insecurity or abandonment.

A huge thank you to all the Noah’s Wish volunteers, co-coordinators and his foster Mom who made a new beginning become a reality.
