Vancouver City Pound still calling itself no-kill *LINK*

We see the VCP is still calling itself no-kill. This is Orwell's 'newspeak', when words mean the opposite of what they are.

No kill clearly means to the average person that there is no killing. We defy the VCP to say that they do not kill any dogs.

VCP uses the scam phrase "We kill no adoptable dogs" which allows it to kill all dogs that it decides to while still claiming to be no kill. But it can label any dog unadoptable. The media eat this up and the public are fooled. We can attest that the public really is fooled, that many people believe that the Vancouver city Pound does not kill any dogs.

VCP no longer accepts owner surrendered dogs so ethically it is light years ahead of the SPCA.

But it has not gone to Vancouver City council and demanded that it adopt a law to stop the keeping of yard/guard dogs - the ruined big breed dogs that are killed by VCP when they inevitably end up there.

Maybe some of the volunteers will end up going out in the night to rescue a chained dog sold by VCP as past volunteers have had to do. Selling dogs to almost anyone is another way to 'move product' fast. This is another scam that the media and the public don't know about, but it is practiced by all pound/shelters.

Putting dogs into foster homes is another way to move product fast, but we know that VCP will give a dog to a foster home without any checks and with no follow up either, so the boast about fostering is just another scam.

Good luck to the latest batch of keen volunteers. They are making a huge difference to the dogs that VCP impounds, with their programs and dedication, but to stop the suffering they are there to relieve, more policy changes are needed.
