Re: Ocean Needs Surgery

Mr. Maloney, on July 16th, 2003, you published the heart wrenching story of Ocean, the one eyed dog who may require surgery to have her leg amputated and I am wondering what follow-up has been done by your reporter, Ms. Sandra Thomas in regards to the outcome for Ocean.

I understand that many community members donated greatly to assist Ocean with surgical costs, rehabilitation and re-homing, yet I have not seen any updates that acknowledge the progress of Ocean nor where the dollars of this fund raising campaign have been spent.

It has now been three months since Ocean's story was featured in your paper and I feel that it is time for the public who supported the SPCA and Ocean to know how she is progressing, the results of her surgery, her status as to adoption or fostering and her general well being.

I am looking forward to hearing from you regarding this very special dog, who so many in the lower mainland supported both financially and emotionally.
