Federal Legislation - Bill C-10B *LINK*

URGENT - WRITE OR PHONE YOUR FEDERAL MEMBER OF PARLIAMENT.

The legislation to toughen penalties for cruelty toward animals is at risk of not being passed.

If Parliament is prorogued early (and there is a chance this may happen to avoid embarrassment by the Liberal party over the Chretien/Martin leadership fight), the Senate could be let off the hook and not be forced to either ratify the legislation or do what they have never done before and that is reject a piece of legislation for the third time.

If this legislation is not passed into law now, it could be years before Parliament gets to vote on it again.

Let your MP know how you feel about this incredibly important issue.

For further details see John Ibbitson's column in the October 22, 2003 issue of the Globe and Mail.
