WHY WAS THE RAID ON FORGOTTEN FELINES ORDERED?

What possible motive would Craig Daniell, the BC SPCA CEO and Manager of Cruelty Investigations, have for sending his two top cops to raid the Forgotten Felines cat shelter in Richmond?

Shawn Eccles is the Chief Animal Protection Officer for the whole province, reporting directly to his boss, Craig Daniell. Eileen Drever is one of only a few Senior Animal Protection Officer and a long time media spokesperson for the SPCA with too much power in our opinion. It is not credible that Eccles and Drever acted without orders from Daniell.

The reason given by another SPCA enforcement officer for not touching a well-known puppymill in the interior is that there is not enough evidence, even though the evidence is plain and has been offered by several people - again.

There can have been no credible evidence of any cruelty at Forgotten Felines because none was found. Daniell was forced to "revoke" the Order given to Forgotten Felines by Drever and Eccles when Forgotten Felines founder, Penny March, got a lawyer and lodged a complaint with the RCMP. Was the Order revoked because a revoked Order is a non-existent Order and so it cannot be sued for as there is no record?

Back to the question of motive. Did Drever and Eccles just have nothing better to do one Friday morning? Is the SPCA so flush with cash that it can afford to pay two senior animal protection officers to go harass a well-run cat shelter that some of its own branches give sick cats to? It is 4.5 million in the hole, but that appears to be no impediment to spending money to harass an innocent person.

March has noticed a connection between her shelter getting publicity and acts of harassment against her in the past. In September Forgotten Felines was featured on CTV, and Barbara Yaffe, a volunteer at the shelter, wrote a glowing report in her column in the Sun. Within a few weeks, the SPCA raided March.

What is the name of the cat rescue group that Daniell said made the complaint that has been used to justify the raid? Could it be the group that the RCMP had to make stop defaming and harassing March? The one that told Penny that she would never run a cat shelter in Richmond? The one that has a millionaire benefactor?

No matter how many other good things Craig Daniell is doing at the BC SPCA, it is not possible for us to trust him because of his questionable use of the power of the SPCA, a use that we are afraid is an abuse of power.
