I just wanted to let you know in response to the China Bear article you put on your site, (which was wonderful of you to do) that Animals Asia made me an appointed volunteer here in B.C. I am a Canadian China Bear Rescue Ambassador, the first one in Canada. I have also been authorized to fundraise and collect donations on behalf of Animals Asia.

My goal is to set up a Canadian support group for Animals Asia Foundation and bring this issue more to the forefront in Canada. I would welcome others who would like to help me. I follow the guidelines set by Animals Asia so as not to create any problems, this issue being a politically sensitive one.

For the most part, I am in contact with Animals Asia U.S. respresentative, Andi Mowrer, for guidance on issues and for literature and items to sell here. At the moment, I have 10 stuffed moon bears, bear key chains, some t-shirts and the colour newsletter on its way. I also have some bear donation boxes in some of the stores here and would like to put more in stores in other areas.

I would appreciate your putting this on your site if you are willing to. While I work for animal rights in this country, Asian animals are being subjected to horrendous torture because there are not yet laws in place, although this will hopefully change in the near future.
