Vancouver cop shoots dog
VANCOUVER (CKNW/AM980) -- A junior officer with the Vancouver Police Department says he fired in self-defence when he shot and killed a family pet during a follow up call in the 78-hundred block of Windsor Wednesday night.
Constable Sarah Bloor says the officer had called ahead but was greeted by a snarling, approaching german shepherd cross.
The constable claims he couldn't see the dog was attached to a leash, but the animal's owner says that's not true.
Bloor says the shooting is being investigated.
