"The Speaker: The Chair is satisfied that this bill is in the same form as Bill C-10B was at the time of prorogation of the second session of the 37th Parliament.

Accordingly, pursuant to order made Tuesday, February 10, 2004, the bill is deemed adopted at all stages and passed by the House.

Tuesday, March 9th, 2004 the Animal Cruelty Bill -- now known as Bill C-22 -- passed its first reading in the Senate. There will most likely be a new chairperson for the committee assigned during the second reading, but the Senators will remain the same as before.

We will send out an announcement as soon as we find out who the new committee chair is.
