This situation is just another shining example of human greed and stupidity – create a market where it is acceptable to mass produce animals, crowd them together so they can’t move, feed them all sorts of dangerous fodder (eg. parts of other animals), stuff them full of steroids, antibiotics, etc, and then wonder why disease spreads so rapidly. And then when disease starts, they wipe out everything and then pay compensation to the producers. When are humans ever going to learn?
