Giving free publicity to a woman who asks for donations while selling puppies for hundreds of dollars each

Letters editor,
Victoria Times Colonist

Sue Wilson regularly advertises puppies for sale in the Times Colonist and the Saanich News. She has advertised eight litters in the last six months that I know of, for as much as $450 per pup. As a matter of fact, one of her "for sale" ads appeared in the very same issue of the Times Colonist that included the "Puppy Love" article.

If, as the article states, she has a waiting list of forty-five good homes for dogs in her "rescue", then why doesn't she re-home some of these puppies with the worthy families? Is it because adult dogs are difficult to place, while puppies may be sold for a tidy profit?

The next time the Times Colonist is looking for a "feel good" story I hope that you interview a realb animal rescuer, such as Carol Sonnex of the Greater Victoria Animal Crusaders, instead of giving free publicity to a woman who asks for donations while selling puppies for hundreds of dollars each.
