Re: Bad dog? Bad SPCA!

As a guardian to a dog who suffers from separation anxiety I can attest to the fact that the best method to bring comfort and confidence in a dog with this issue is to be home as much as possible, use dog daycare and dog walkers as often as required and give it time, time and more time.

Its been a year of working on this issue and now we rarely have more than a tea towel placed by the front door to remind us that we should not be leaving him alone.

SPCA your advise is wrong and will do more harm than good. The end result will be this dog will be returned to the shelter over and over again...with increased anxiety which most likely will lead to a label of "unadoptable" and ultimately death.
