SPCA Director Bowen is very naive if she thinks she will change the BC SPCA

No one ever has and no one will. It has been tried for fifty years, by more experienced people than Ms Bowen and it has failed. It is not even logical to think that any organization is going to allow itself to be changed when its income is dependant on doing business the way it has done so successfully for so long.

The only change made to the SPCA has come from those who have got the evidence and been public about it. In the 1980's a group of naive people who joined the board of the Vancouver SPCA thinking they could stop the SPCA from electrocuting dogs and gassing cats by "working with" the SPCA from within. They were voted out by the rest of the board who were management stooges. So they went public..from "outside" - they went to the media, and finally, after lying and stalling and hanging on to the machines that "fried" dogs, it finally had to stop using them (Read more: http://www.animaladvocates.com/spca-electrothanator-history.htm)

AAS is told all the time to stop criticizing the SPCA and start helping it. That is incredibly naive. By getting into bed with the SPCA the day when the SPCA stops killing thousands of innocent dogs and cats and other animals is only prolonged. That is a betrayal of animals - not a help.
