THE SPCA IS COMPLETELY DYSFUNCTIONAL
In Response To: a letter to SPCA executive ()

Michael Steven, the President of the BC SPCA has said that the SPCA is a dysfunctional Society. This is a prime example of that dysfunction.

The root of the dysfunction is this: that SPCA management is powerless to make the employees change their behaviour. For fifty years the SPCA, with the employees of its pound contracting/dog control business, formed an unholy alliance. Management allowed employees to assume control because it worked so well.

It worked well until the SPCA was forced to change - because of the AAS web site publicizing the truth and refusing to be intimidated by high-priced lawyers into silence.

But no real change is ever going to happen, as Brigitta's message makes so clear, until the power of these employees is returned to normal levels. The struggle will be titanic; the employees have the muscle of CUPE local 1622.

And they have something far more powerful than their union - they have the details of the true story of the SPCA in British Columbia - fifty years of shame!

Many of the stories that AAS is working on now - Odie, Keisha, other branches with self-servers in charge, are further proof that the employees are in charge. Watch the AAS message board and the web site for these and other stories. The SPCA will not willingly change - it must be forced to by shining the spotlight into its darkest corners. The web never sleeps; it cannot be silenced; its light will shine on the SPCA - forever if need be.

Read the web page below to see how these unionized employees are protecting their animal control jobs at the expense of the move to true animal welfare.
