AAS'S ANTI-TETHERING RESEARCH IS BEING WIDELY USED

AAS is receiving more requests from around the world, but especially in Canada and the US, for help in getting anti-tethering laws passed. The letter below is one of many we receive. The education and advocacy component of AAS is as important as our hands-on rescue work. Not many groups do both, and you can help to make it happen by spreading our web and message board. The power of the web is going to make the changes we all want. So spread the AAS web to everyone you can think of - it is one of the single greatest animal-loving things you can do.

"Dear AAS, I am interested in proposing anti-tethering legislation for our county in Central Oregon and would like to see samples of existing laws. Also could you point me to places I could find examples in the US. I will be calling HSUS and ASPCA. Thank you. Lynne Connelley"

AAS sent Lynne all the many links to our anti-tethering pages, including our research into US laws. The pages start with the link below.

AAS was quoted as a source of laws, and one of our photos was recently used, in an article in The Wichita (Kansas) Eagle on a group of people there that are trying to get anti-tethering laws. We were included with ASPCA and HSUS.
