INSTRUCTIONS FOR ADOPTING A DOG

AAS is dedicated to not just "shuffling" dogs from one place to another, but to making sure that any dog that comes into our care is treated as a loved family member no matter how much money it costs us, or how long it takes us.

Adoption donations may be waived for that special person who will rescue a special needs dog. Age, health, and temperament may all be reasons for the waiver. There are no set adoption fees for adult dogs. We tell you what the dog's expenses were and you make a donation that you think is appropriate. If one of your first concerns is "the cost" of the dog, we would rather you didn't apply, as life-time expenses for food and medical care (and perhaps training and exercising) are very expensive.

Instructions for adopting a dog:
1. Read about crating
2. Read about "home alone" dogs
3. Read about training
4. Read about outside dogs
5. If you are applying for a puppy, read about puppies
6. Read our adoption agreement in pdf
7. Fill out the adoption questionnaire
