At one time other animals such as cats & dogs etc *didn't feel pain* either - it was just a *reflex*.

That was the science of the day then as well.....something to think about?

But I guess when you happen to be lucky enough to be one of the species who decides what other species feel or don't feel, think or don't think, another beings suffering really doesn't matter.
