They're eating their veggies at the University of British Columbia - and they're happy about it.

The school was deemed the third most vegetarian-friendly college or university in Canada in an online contest sponsored by peta2 - the world's largest youth animal rights organization. McMaster University, the 2006 winner, finished second to this year's top vote-getter, the University of Toronto.

UBC has made an effort to offer attractive options to vegetarian students, including curried chickpea-cashew stir-fry, lentil curry with spinach, and lentil, tofu, and bulgar casserole.

Rounding out the list of the top five vegetarian-friendly colleges in Canada are the University of Victoria and Trent University.
