More of these very common stories must be reported to the media for there to be meaningful change.

How were these dogs' names known? Who knew about their suffering and for how long? Were they ever reported? How many people kept quiet?

If you see animal neglect or abuse or cruelty, document it if you can and then contact the media. If you have the courage to do this, others will have the courage. Too many cases of animal abuse go on year after year with no one but a neighbour or two knowing of it.

Recently there were a lot of internet posts by a witness to a man deliberately hitting a dog with his car. All the information was documented but the media were not contacted soon enough, so the story was never told except to a few animal lovers who read those sites. The media should have been gone to immediately.
