Request to Fur Council of Canada to attend "pelting" at fur farms ignored

OPEN LETTER

Re: What is the Fur Council Hiding?

I have not received any response to our email sent to you on December 5th. I requested that you allow our representative to film the December “pelting” of mink and foxes on fur farms. As you know nearly two million animals will be killed this month.

Your recently launched $1 million marketing campaign attempts to sell fur as eco-friendly so why don’t you discuss it with us? The fur industry claims that farming and killing animals is humane and “green” but can you prove it? If you do not have anything to hide then you should let us film how the mink, foxes and others are raised, killed and processed. The public should be able to witness how animals are being treated on fur farms and how they are trapped.

Lifeforce recently launched our Furgotten? Campaign to bring attention to the plight of animals on fur farms in Canada. They are kept in appalling, filthy conditions. The video and Fact Sheet can be viewed at:

I hope you will open the doors of fur farms and the entire fur business. In 1983 you travelled to Vancouver to attend our Animal Rights Symposium (I hope you enjoyed the free eco-friendly vegan meal) so you certainly are capable of travelling to BC to visit fur businesses with me. I can be contacted at 604-649-5258 or lifeforcesociety@hotmail.com
