This interference becomes more odious when there is no purposeful reason other than fashion

Beautifully said, Jennifer. I can’t imagine the things you see on a daily basis in your work, all because of needless genetic manipulation by breeders. It seems to be a human trait that we just have to interfere with animals, rather than just enjoy them the way they are.

This interference becomes more odious when there is no purposeful reason other than fashion. Check out the American Kennel Association’s requirements for the hind legs of German Shepherds and then consider the untold misery of many of these crippled dogs.

I find it much more rewarding to just watch a group of dogs interacting with each other and having fun, rather than trying to manipulate them to do something to demonstrate my mastery over them.
