Cariboo Challenge 2008 Saturday in 108 Mile

The Cariboo Challenge 2008 Jack Gawthorn Memorial Sled Dog Race starts
Saturday at the Hills Health Ranch at 108 Mile House.

Local sled dog racers Bruce and Marla Young will be competing against
some of the best sled dog teams in the world. CRD chair Jon Wolbers and
Mayor Scott Nelson.

Wolbers and Nelson will be competing in the Mayors Challenge against Mayors from Wells, Quesnel, 100 Mile House, and Clinton.

The mayors and Wolbers have been raising money for the event and the
money raised will be donated to the SPCA. The Mayors Race begins at noon
on Saturday.

JACK GAWTHORN MEMORIAL SLED DOG RACE

January 8th & 9th, 2005

Plans are underway for the 14th annual Jack Gawthorn Memorial dog sled
on the second weekend of January, 8th and 9th, 2005.

The race will take place on the excellent trail system at The Hills,
located in the 108 Mile Ranch, BC. This year we will be running a 4 dog
(4 miles), 6 dog, 6 dog purebred (6 miles) and a 10 dog (10 miles), 12
dog (20 miles) class. Skijoring, a kids race and a weight pull will
also be part of the weekend.

Entry Deadline: January 1, 2005
Mushers Meeting: January 7, 2005 at the Hills (7 PM)
Bid Draw: January 7, 2005 at the Hills (8:45 PM)

Banquet: Saturday, January 8 at The Hills tickets $25 adults / $12
children / under 5 free

*$6000 min. purse.

*All races are single start

*Cash prizes will be given out to 7th place

*Kids race on Saturday

*weight pull competition on Saturday

*Silent Auction

*Mushers Banquet with door prizes
