According to an article in the Victoria Times Colonist a trapper checking his traplines overturned his ATV and lay face down with one leg trapped under the ATV for 96 hours. He knew he could not survive one more night and was going to amputate his leg, but was found by some hikers at the last minute.

Though I would wish such torture on no one, I can't help but think how wonderfully befitting this is. There is a trapper with one leg in the ATV leghold trap, with death staring him in the face and getting ready to remove his leg, (was he going to chew it off, or use a knife?).
I wonder if he had he any thoughts about the animals he put in the same kind of position.

Of course he was somewhat luckier than the trapped animals, No one came along and bashed his head in with a big club.

Hopefully, after this, there will be at least one trapper less out there.
