I was in Slidell, LA when I heard of the shootings.

The shock wave that ran through the Noah's Wish shelter could be felt from miles away.

We were there to help each and every animal we could, most in very desperate situations and then to hear that those that are trusted to keep us safe from harm took a gun and killed the innocent souls of the largest disaster to hit North America.

These dogs have never left my heart, the pictures remain solid in my mind and I had hoped that justice would prevail.

With a heavy heart, it appears that only those who truly cared will carry on with memories to guide them as they work on behalf of the voiceless.
