LAPS shelter dream fulfilled

Dear Editor,

I am so glad that the new Langley Animal Shelter is proceeding [Ground broken for new shelter, Jan. 25, Langley Advance].

Many thanks to the mayor and councillors of Langley Township for approving the project, to the LAPS volunteers, and to the dedicated shelter staff who have managed to make an old facility a welcoming and safe place for stray animals during the past five years.

I'd also like to thank our dear departed friend, Patti Dale. Her passion and tireless commitment for homeless animals in her community led to the establishment of the Langley Animal Protection Society, and her dream of a new shelter for them will now be fulfilled.
