Targeting those hard to catch Feral Cats !

Pacific Animal Foundation (PAF) recently hired a carpenter to make a "drop trap" to assist us in our feral cat "Trap/Neuter/Return" (TNR) work in North Vancouver.

A drop trap can help you target the particular cat or kitten you want. By selecting which cat or cats to drop the trap on, you can let others, already fixed, eat and not have to withhold food from a whole colony while you try to trap a hard to catch feral. Box traps need a "guillotine" or sliding back door so that you can line them up flush with the drop trap door to transfer a cat from the drop trap to the box trap.

PAF "christened" our drop trap this morning and targeted a six month old kitten. Please see our link: http://www.pacificanimal.org/images/drop_trap.htm
