The good news about the starved horses is that they didn't go to auction today. Ninety-seven of the horses will be turned over to Susan Fyfe, who runs Keno Hills Stable. Ms. Keno went on a mission to save the horses after she heard about the seizure. Fyfe needs donations and volunteers to help with nursing the horses back to health. Once the animals are healthy again, good homes will be found for them. A website to help support the rescue has been set up at http://www.rescue100.com/. For more information and to find out how to help or to make a donation, please go to the site.
This is a chance to do some hads on work for these animals to bring them back to health. It appears that Fyfe does not want to sell the horses once they are healthy but wants to use the adoption model for the horses that rescue shelters are currently using for cats and dogs.
