The BCVMA suggested fee guides are now available for purchase from the BCVMA website.

I wonder why the BCVMA just didn't decide to post the PDF file right on the website as a helpful service to clients. It's really good to learn that some of the mystique about veterinary pricing is coming into the public domain. Now at least people can check if their bills are in the range considered acceptable. People can also anticipate how much they may have to pay and schedule their optional veterinary visits accordingly.

The 31 page photocopied pages (if they are in the same format as mine was) which includes sample invoices, will cost you $100, so there probably will be few takers. The 1999 edition cost me $25 and the 2005 edition cost me $50.

I ordered my copy soon after the recent guides came out last year. I noticed a jump in my vet bills, so I knew a new guide had to have been released. Since 1999 prices seem to have risen by about 5% a year. I wonder how many people have received salary increases anywhere near this. The CPP cost of living index has gone up about 2% annually.
