Hannah and Heidi: Two good pups for good homes *PIC*

Hannah and Heidi

Breed: Cross
Age: about 20 weeks
Size: Medium

Chilliwack pound asked us for help with two abandoned puppies. As the manager says, pound cells are not good places for puppies and so even though puppies are highly sellable, the manager would rather get them into the rescue network... bless her... unlike some pounds that hang onto their pups for easy sales.

UPDATE March 20th Both girls growing and changing daily since they have been in foster care. They are being well socialized with children, dogs and people (we even have a cat that they ignore). Every day they are being exposed to a new and safe off leash adventure at either the mountain in the forest and the snow, on the sandy beach or a dog park. You will get your face washed by Hannah and Heidi as both are affectionate and have calm dispositions. Heidi has the darker face and coat and Hannah the lighter. Hannah is starting to carry a toy in her mouth like retrievers do and when she has something small to play with she loves to flip it in the air over and over. She is still a little shy in new situations but getting more confident everyday. Heidi loves to run and chase and then will lie on her back to be played with. Housetraining is work in progress and if they have an accident it is my fault as I didn't put them out soon enough. You can't expect a pup to be fully housetrained until about 6 mos. of age although some train sooner - just like kids! They had their second set of shots yesterday and their adult teeth are coming in. The vet said that these are not going to be big dogs as they are about 25 pounds at 4 mos so you can double it and add a few.

Please apply to AAS. Please read our instructions for adopting at http://www.animaladvocates.com/adoptions/

Animal Advocates will provide free starter training for these pups.
