The Canadian federal government was threatening animal caring groups across the country not to critcize the fur trade, or publicize its cruel methods.

Now even Environment Canada Scientists are required to toe line.

Environment Canada has 'muzzled' its scientists, ordering them to refer all media queries to Ottawa, where communications officers will help them respond with 'approved lines'...

"They've been muzzled", says Andrew Weaver, Climatologist at the University of Victoria.
"The concept of free speech is nonexistent at Environment Canada. They are manufacturing the message of science".
