SURREY (NEWS1130) - Two children are in hospital after being bitten by a Rottweiler yesterday near 88th and 132nd street in Surrey.

Corporal Ravi Pawar with Surrey RCMP says the dog attacked two children walking with their grandmother around 9pm, "In speaking with neighbours and witnesses, this incident was completely unprovoked and unpredictable, the dog came out of nowhere and bit these two young children."

The children, ages 4 and 8, were taken to Surrey Memorial Hospital and both are expected to recover from serious injuries.

The owner had recently rescued the dog from another home and was shocked to hear it bit the kids. The Rottweiler was taken to the SPCA where staff have since put the dog down.

This is the second serious dog attack this month in surrey. Two weeks ago an 11 year old boy was severly injured by a Pitbull.
